Great video🎉
Not sure Apple invented the mouse
Xerox I believe had a commercially available version first and the Apple created their own version of it.
Yeah, I think technically Xerox invented it
Douglas Engelbart of SRI—who would later work on the DARPA-sponsored ARPANET project, the Internet’s precursor—invented the computer mouse. Then Xerox made the first commercially available mouse.
“Budget tony stark “ 😂
EDITS and UPDATES:
1) Suddenly, when using the Virtual Display connected to my Mac, I can now input from my keyboard into the Apple Vision Pro’s windows. Can still not use hand gestures to control my Mac window, but can input into things like my virtual iMessage window.
You called out my biggest issue with this. The lack of human interaction. I think the Quest 3 nailed this experience; I regularly work in Meta Workrooms with my buddies who live far away and it feels like we’re working at the same table. We play mini golf and a bunch of other games and it actually feels like hanging out. I think the ability to make connections virtually with friends is my favorite thing about VR headsets. Apple’s does the opposite and isolates you and when so much is isolating in the tech space, I think that’s a huge negative.
Completely agree Andrew, but I think it’s more of a V1 quirk than planned that way. There’s already a few ways to interact virtually with other people like Facetime and some games, but I want to be standing next to someone that also has an AVP on and be sharing the same “AR” experience. I think that’s when this thing gets great!
@@DavidManningvlog Hopefully! If they can integrate controllers into the gaming and create some better versions of those experiences I’d be down to upgrade.
Nice review! I cringe at a reality of people walking around wearing these in public 😂
The public is not ready for these yet. More ready than they were when the Google Glass first came out, but still not ready
I saw one video, with iOS 15.0.2, you’ll be able to connect iPhone via Vision Pro. not sure.
That’s a needed feature because looking at your phone through these looks like a VHS tape
Wow… I can see a future use for video editing… Can’t wait! Thanks David.
Sitting in a coffee shop, but editing on an 80″ tv🤯
I love your videos!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Have to correct you on this: Apple did not invent the mouse. They first saw it at Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center. Xerox did all the initial groundwork for the mouse. Though Apple did indeed popularize it.
What do they say about the winners writing history?
Love how the squarespace promo younuse the rhode microphone. The end 😅 kinda cool 😂 just imagine that…this tech with AI in 10 years…bananas!
10 years from now, this is going to be bananas!
Will NOT even consider buying one of these as I MUST buy two. One for my wife and I. Since we cannot even share watching the same movie, I’ll wait. Also, do you have same issue sharing your iPad screen to the goggles?
Yep, no sharing iPad screen to the AVP either, just your actual Mac. And you’re totally right now, even if you both had one, you couldn’t share the same experience😑
Peace ✌🏼
I definitely want one and will be getting one, however will wait for v2. Also, David- I am shocked seeing you edit in Premiere Pro😮 why no Final Cut.
I’m switching… eventually. Just trying to figure out if I’m headed to resolve or final cut. PRETTY SURE Final Cut is in my near future
@@DavidManningvlogI just switched to Final Cut from Adobe. Ken- OriginalDobo and Billy Kyle convinced me, and I’m never looking back. The effects, transitions, overlay plugins are so easy to use. Also export times are drastically improved.
To start with, great video. You make a lot of really good points and bring up things that I had not thought of.
Now, to be a bit pedantic. I agree that these are not our goggles, but I do believe this is the very definition of pass through. Pass through refers to the outside world being passed through to your eyes through a series of cameras. That definition may be a little different in regards to vr, but as an fpv pilot, our goggles that in the past have had passed through were indeed just cameras on the outside passing the outside world image through the goggles to your eyes. Different in that you are not just looking through a clear lens with an image being projected over top.
Again, I could be mistaken about the vernacular in regards to VR tech, but that was always my understanding.
I think your daughter has it right… It’s just kinda cool 😂 Being an apple exclusive kind of excludes a lot of us that don’t support apple products
Fascinating technology… love your 2 questions 1) what is it? and 2) what is it for? Watched the whole thing and still not sure but I can see why those questions are so hard to answer. Thank you David!
Reminds me of the scene from Johnny Mnemonic 1995
People are losing grips of reality
Will the insta 360 video surround you in the Vision Pro?
Is there a way to turn off bluetooth and wifi, then use an ethernet connection to it?
