The Hasselblad is the most recent wide angle lens in the XCD lineup. It's a 20mm full-frame equivalent with an f/2.5 maximum aperture. I have actually been utilizing it on both the and the 907x with impressive outcomes – particularly in low light.

  1. Hasselblad once again pushing out these reviews with influencers but yet fail to deliver their pre-existing lens to their customer in a timely manner. I still cant believe I waited half a year just to get the 90V. Of course, Ted wont be talking about that in his review i presume… It is almost Hasselblad value their influencers more than their actual customers. 🀣

    1. @@theartofphotography that was around 8-9 months ago. Nowadays the average waiting time for a 90V is around 2 months here in Hong Kong. Still pretty bad if you ask me. In mainland china, you have to pay EXTRA to get these XCD lens and I am 100% serious. Pretty shady business tactics by DJI/ Hasselblad ngl. If I put my 90V on second hand websites in Hong Kong and I ask for $800USD more people will actually buy it immediately. That’s how bad the global supply chain network is with them.

    2. @@theartofphotography for me, I indicated to my dealer that I did not want the 90v…around June’2023. Her stock came in Late October and I hade mine early November. Had to have it LOL

    3. @@patrickmolloy6994 I asked my dealer for one and got the 90v in a month. So I doubt that the problem is with Hasselblad or the concerns you initially stated exist everywhere. Yes there was a delay on getting them out but I am not sure that is insurmountable today. I could me wrong as some areas may have better access than others. I guess my overall message is to encourage you to keep at it as the 90v is out there. I am empathetic to your concern. I am sure it is incredibly frustrating but Ted and Hasselblad are promoting and providing products that are out there. Keep in mind we are also speaking of more of a luxury camera system so that is also a factor.

    4. They release the 90V every month. Just sign up for the notification on their site. I guarantee you will receive your lens around the end of the month.

  2. I grew up with Hasselblad and have witnessed their progression, and yet I shoot with an SL2, and I can’t say why. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time to make the switch. Thank you for the review.

    1. I love my 21mm and am not trading it in. I just compared the data sheets for these lenses on the Hasselblad site, and while the graphs are at slightly different aperture values, the performance looks very similar. The 25v is basically the same length and weight as the 21mm, but a little skinnier. Personally, I would rather have the wider FOV than the faster f stop – with the IBIS on the X2D, the difference between f/2.5 and f/4 isn’t gigantic IMHO, at least for how I shoot.

  3. I understand what you said @user-uh5zn4cg8s, when we pay high amounts for this products we want the best and fast. But Hasselblad is a premium camera manufacture, a relative small company compared to the giants Japanese companies, some delays can be frustrated but… are “normal” for not being a giant company. As an Hasselblad customer, I m 100% satisfied with their products and customer service. I prefer to wait (even we should not have to wait for what we pay) and have a product that give me amazing quality, like Hasselblad gives me.

  4. Great review sir. It seems like a fantastic lens, especially for astrophotography and low-light conditions

  5. You say the 25v beats the 21mm in terms of sharpness, distortion and vignetting. The charts on the Hasselblad site look pretty similar for these lenses to the extent they can be compared. Did you do comparisons and found visible differences, particularly for sharpness? I would love to see any comparison shots showing visibly better performance for the 25mm. I love ultra-wide, so it would take a lot for me to give up the 21mm for the narrower 25mm, particularly given the 25mm’s $3699 price tag. The X2D’s IBIS somewhat makes up for the 21mm’s slower aperture when shooting without a tripod, and the two lenses are similar in length and weight. Had the new lens been a new version of the 21mm with better performance, I would have been much more tempted to upgrade, but you are giving up a lot with the 25mm if you often shoot even wider. Plus the 25mm is pretty close to the 28P in focal length which is no slouch optically speaking even if slower. Right now I am shooting 21/28/55/90, which is a really nice spread – the 25 wouldn’t seem to add a whole lot to me personally unless it provided notably better optical performance. Thanks for the review!

  6. What editing software is available for Has. Cameras? Include focus stacking, HDR, luminosity blending, etc. ?

  7. Just order mine this morning! Ted….you keep making me spend my money This is the third time you “made me” buy a V series lens!. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ All joking aside, thank you for posting your videos. I am grateful for the relationship you have with Hasselblad as well as the content you have created.

  8. I don’t care about this lens, but had to join because I love hearing Ted talk about lenses πŸ™‚

  9. Hasselblad is killing themselves with all the hype and no lenses avaiable anywhere to buy. πŸ™„

  10. I am trying to decide on a xcd lens other than the 45p for my 907x 50c. I am leaning towards the 28p but really I just want somthing like the 38 biogon on the SWC cameras. Any input would be nice thanks!
