Hey there! I didn’t see any red flares while testing. In a ton of different scenarios, I tried to swing the camera from front lit to back lit to see how the camera adjusted and it worked awesome. As for the DJI mics, it would absolutely work to pickup solid audio, but I’m not sure whether the DJI mic would hide in the stitch line quite as well. The Rode Wireless GO II body design is nice and slim and the DJI is a bit fatter. I’ll test that out and include it in a future video👍 I appreciate you watching and following along!

i would love to have this camera! we use the X2 for many of our videos and the idea of a bigger sensor is my favorite part, better low light performance would be awesome. Looking forward to the new gopro hero 11. We have been rocking two 9’s for our videos and might be ready to jump on the 11.

I always love your reviews! I really wanted this for a Disney trip but Disney doesn’t allow selfie sticks! I feel like that seriously inhibits the usage of a camera like this. Any suggestions to still get awesome footage when you can’t use the selfie stick?
This looks like a great camera and substantial update with the larger sensor. Have had a Max for almost two years now and this is tempting me to upgrade. As someone that likes doing VR videos, I was hoping the overall video size would be bigger than the 5.7k. Were you able to test that out at all, and if so how does it compare with others
Love what they did with the sleeve. I had to do that manually on my OneX2

I had overheating issues with the One X…swollen battery after 15 minutes of recording. So, while I like this better – the modular version would suit better.
All of these new action cameras coming out this month. Not really interested in this camera but so interested in all of its specs and features and I’m here for the great shot sequences you always have. I can’t wait to see your review of the action 3 that’s suppose to come out this month along with a comparison to the hero 11. You’re going to have a lot of work ahead of you, so prepare mentally, David. 😏

Seems like a nice step up from the OneX2, trying to find the balance in upgrading 1 action camera per year and alternating the upgrades between X series and Heros. Thinking it might be a hero 9 to 11 this year as the form factor stays the same, so media mod isn’t an issue, and then doing Insta upgrade next year
Glorious review! X2 and X3 batteries not being compatible is a gigantic oversight!! Just got the X2 and that’s holding me back from upgrading, but I’m definitely staying tuned on this channel for more good content
It looks pretty sweet but I dont’ know that I’d be in a hurry to upgrade my X2. I use this as an action camera and don’t know how I feel about the liability having such a huge screen on it. I don’t view or frame content via the screen so it’s not necessary for a camera like this IMO. What I would have like to have seen is a proper detachable glass lens guard that would twist/lock on similar to how GoPro does with their cameras. The $50 premium lens guard distorts to much and the plastic cheap lens guard scratches too easily and isn’t clear. If they’re going to really market this as an action cam they really should be make lens protection a priority in the design.
