  1. I lived in Paris for 4 years and just returned from a two week photo holiday in Italy in 2009. I got out of my cab with my wife and was walking to the apartment door when a gang of three young men approached me and grabbed my camera bag with all my photo gear and all the shots I had taken. They moved to my wife and grabbed my backup camera from her shoulder and knocked her down. Lost 6000 dollars equipment but worse all my shots. Police tried helping but to no avail. So, it can happen.

    1. I thought this only happens to notorious unkown places not on a classy city like Paris. You really can’t trust people nowadays, always have to be cautious most of the time. Feel bad about your loss, only consolation is that were not badly hurt.

    2. Lol Paris isn’t classy. Just like any big cities, it is filled with all manner of crooks looking for easy prey.

This was quite apparent recently with champions league final football match.

    3. @Noe Suarez knocked me down too. Broken rib from them kicking me and I was just off of que Grenelle down from the Eiffel tower. Theft is bad and every where there us a crowd someone will be watching for an opportunity to grab your property. Situational awareness can help you but if there are thugs they don’t care.

  2. I’m confused. Where was your assistant when that guy swiped the bag?

  3. Alles sehr schön. Aber zuerst zusammen die Nummern 10 und 1. Eine sleepfriendd.Online Brünette und eine andereu Blondine. Es wäre unfair, wenn ich 4 wählen würde

  5. I love getting up very early in the morning for cityscape photos, the light is incredible as the sun comes up when the city lights are still on. The city is so quiet with few people and cars so it’s a magical time. One of the best times to get pics of buildings with no cars parked in front of them. Sometimes it feels like I have the city all to myself for that little time in the morning. Your Paris photos look amazing!

  6. Great timing and excellent video, Serge! I’m sorry to hear about your loss and happy to see you taking it in stride and out-creating the set-back with amazing photos!! I say, “great timing” because I’m preparing for my trip to Paris and Mont Saint Michel the last 10 days of August. You know I want to shoot with you there, but this is my 20th wedding anniversary and I promised my wife I’d go there with her before going with you. 😉 So now, I’d really like a recommendation of where we should stay when in Paris for me to capture epic sunrise and sunset shots easily. I like the scooter idea! Ill try that. But where should I be staying (or at least which area) do you recommend I book a hotel? I believe you’ve got my email and cell number if you prefer to answer me privately. Thanks!

  7. Lol the scooter. Sorry that happened Serge. Despite having a good business insurance I would be royally upset.

  8. Ah ah j’adore Serge plus de vidéos comme celle là, a l’heure où paris s’éveille tout est magique. Désolé pour le matériel je suis très prudent pour ma part en shooting spécialement près des lieux touristiques. Great vidéo

  9. Based on my two trips to Paris, from a photography perspective, all photos come out best in B&W. There are absolutely no colors on the buildings/streets except for some cafes.

  10. I will have to get up definitely for the sunrise, specially in winter time because it’s less early than in summer but colder. I have now an electrical bike. thank you for your video and your energy, it’s always so positive. Bravo

  11. Oh dang! So sorry to hear about your gear, but sounds like they’ve caught the guy and hopefully you’ll have it back soon. LOVED seeing these photos, especially the black and white ones! I noticed things you did that I wouldn’t have done because I wouldn’t have thought it would work (like the bright skies) but it did! Now I want to get up early and explore my city! I always learn something when I watch your videos! THANKS!!!!

  12. Thank you…it took me 3 Gravol Tablets (Dimenhydrinate) to get through the video. Motion Sickness! You are a great photographer, but filming (videotaping) is not your strong side, I am afraid. Sorry to learn about your gear. BTW…I use tracking devices that are in my camera bags and on my equipment. It was only a few dollars and the police loved it!
