  1. Your tribute to the Holga reminds me of my love for my Ciroflex, another inexpensive 120 camera that you covered once years ago. It’s near and dear to me because it was made just a couple of miles from my home.

  2. I had a younger associate submit work to a panel of judges and was incensed when their work wasn’t selected.

I looked at them saying, “You’re mad about not receiving validation from strangers in a subjective medium?”

  3. Followed you a long time and really appreciate the style and focus on photography over technology. I found your Friday photo book episodes amazing and plan to send you one – as soon as I got the courage.

  4. Ted, you are one of the most thoughtful youtubers I know! You misstep in the kind of suggestions you made today seem to me as likely as the Queen stealing harps in heaven!
Moreover, you didn’t address the creative qualities other than praising them. You only talked about modes of presentation. And standing to one’s art is an advice almost every artist could use from time to time! Some people are blessed with the gift of knowing how to lift up people through the right words. You are one of them. Use it!

  5. I’d love to get a critique from you on one of my books. Take this as blanket permission (and fwiw, there’s one I sent a few weeks back in your incoming pile somewhere — feel free to be as detailed and critical as you feel would be interesting to the rest of your audience. I’d love the feedback)

  6. I’ve have a Holga digital lens which I brought for my Sony Nex5n. That’s gone and I attach it to my Sony A6000. For many years I put it away. Since I watched you videos Ted. I’ve started to go out and shoot with it more. It’s a lot of fun. I also have the Holga pinhole lens, which I never use. Thanks Ted.👍🏻

  7. Your Friday book reviews are great, and your advice is welcome. I have spent the last 8 years travelling teaching English in places like China, Italy, Spain and Poland and have thought of putting some of the images together in a zine

  8. Nothing wrong with helping people a bit. They value your opinion enough to send you the books and the zines, and you’re not being overly negative or outright trashing them. I say keep it going.

  9. Some really inspirational work here. I always look forward to these episodes!

  10. Please do critique! It’s helps us all. Like what you’ve said about Boudhayan’s zine that was amazing! Great video Ted.

  11. I think most of the people sending you their work would want to hear your honest opinion! I know I would.

  12. I couldn’t agree more about letting images breath…I learned that especially when doing my 2nd book. I have some images that run very large but most have a good amount of white border. I think it presents the image better as well. Keep up the good work!
