Gorgeous work, Faizal. Indonesia presents such amazing photography opportunities unlike most other places on earth. While it’s very common to see YouTubers put up photos of Balinese temples and beaches, mountain-side tea and coffee plantations, volcanoes, etc. (the “Influencer Checklist”), it’s very rare that someone takes the time to explore the backstreets and markets of a city like Yogyakarta. It’s places like those that are the real magic of Indonesia, and you’ve captured it so beautifully. Also, your heritage has been a bit of a curiosity for me since finding your channel several years ago. I lived in Indonesia for over 10 years (the entirety of the 90s), and have been married to my wife of 31 years who’s also from central Java. Your facial features have always reminded me so much of our 2 sons (who I imagine are somewhere around your age). And now I know why. 😊

Beautiful video! This might be a weird question but do people seem on guard in indonesia when they see you with a camera? I ask because where I am in the Middle East, people often get nervous when they see a camera because privacy is a big deal.
